The Wilson Frankenfly originates with Maria Wilson, whose pattern is so successful that she asked Flies by Two Brothers to help fulfill the demand. The tail contains olive marabou and olive crystal flash. Olive Wooly Bugger chenille is wrapped to form the body. Additionally, olive crystal hackle is wrapped over the chenille for extra flash and segmentation. A band of red dubbing behind the bead makes it more appealing to fish. A gold bead provides the weight.

This fly lived up to its reputation the first time we fished with one we tied. Mason landed a chilly 12-inch Rainbow on the Powell River in southwest Virginia over Thanksgiving.
