The Green Drake hatch is one of the most well-known hatches in North America and is a staple feast for trout.  This imitation has a tail made of moose body hair.  Olive dubbing is wrapped to create the body with brown-dyed silk cord used as a rib to create segmentation.  The wing is formed with green and yellow deer hair, and the butt ends of these hairs are trimmed to form the head.  Brown hackle is used at the front to add buoyancy, and two pair of olive and black mottled legs in the thorax give the fly a more accurate silhouette.
