The Frenchie is a famous and versatile nymph that can be used to emulate various small macroinvertebrates such as mayfly larvae.  Barbs from a mallard flank feather are used to create the tail.  In order to have a tapered and segmented body, we use an olive synthetic quill and then lacquer it to smooth the profile.  The hotspot thorax is made with shell pink ice dub.  A slotted gold bead forms the head of the fly and allows it to sink properly.
